We are going to create most of our elements before creating the frame. .
STEP 1 In your MATERIALS PALETTE load 005_verloop6-ca.jpg pattern in the foreground using these settings.
STEP 2 Open up the SC_Swirl1.png image in your PSP workspace WINDOW >>> DUPLICATE Close the original Image IMAGE >>> MIRROR EFFECTS >>> REFLECTION EFFECTS >>> ROTATING MIRROR Horizontal Offset = 0 Vertical Offset = n/a Rotation Angle = 180 Edge Mode = Reflect Choose your SELECTION TOOL Selection Type = Rectangle Mode = Replace Feather = 0 Antialias = UNchecked Select the top shape
STEP 3 Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options Right click in your PSP workspace and select PASTE AS NEW IMAGE from the options. Save as shape1.png AND AGAIN Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options Right click in your PSP workspace and select PASTE AS NEW IMAGE from the options. Save as shape2.png .
STEP 4 CLOSE the "Reflected" image ACTIVATE shape1.png Centre the image with your mover tool if necessary. SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL SELECTIONS >>> FLOAT SELECTIONS >>> DEFLOAT SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 4
STEP 5 LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER Flood fill with gold pattern DESELECT LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE Save as shape1.png and minimize
STEP 6 With shape2.png active Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options Right click in your PSP workspace and select PASTE AS NEW IMAGE from the options. IMAGE >>> RESIZE = 60% Ensure "Resize all layers" is UNCHECKED Resample using WEIGHTED AVERAGE SELECTIONS >>> SELECT ALL SELECTIONS >>> FLOAT SELECTIONS >>> DEFLOAT SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 4 ,
STEP 7 LAYERS >>> NEW RASTER LAYER Flood fill with gold pattern DESELECT LAYERS >>> ARRANGE >>> MOVE DOWN LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE VISIBLE Save as shape2.png and minimize

STEP 11 Open a new image 700 x 600 Transparent background PSP9: Colour Depth = 16 Million Colors (24bit) PSPX-X6: Colour Depth RGB = 8bits/channel Flood fill with BLACK

STEP 13 Maximize shape1.png Right click on the Title Bar and select COPY from the options Right click on the Title Bar of your frame image and select PASTE AS NEW LAYER from the options. STEP 16 ACTIVATE Raster 3 With your MAGIC WAND Mode = ADD (Shift) Match Mode = RGB Value Tolerance = 0 Feather = 0 Antialias = UNchecked Sample Merged = UNCHECKED PSP9 - X6: Check CONTIGUOUS PSPX - X6: There is no " Sample Merged" Select the centres of the 4 small shapes as shown

STEP 18 ACTIVATE Raster 2 With your MAGIC WAND .. same settings Select the centre of the large shape SELECTIONS >>> MODIFY >>> EXPAND = 4 ACTIVATE Raster 1 EDIT >>> CLEAR DESELECT
STEP 19 ACTIVATE Raster 4 EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW
STEP 20 ACTIVATE Raster 3 LAYERS >>> MERGE >>> MERGE DOWN EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW Same settings BUT CHANGE Direction to 135 THEN.... EFFECTS >>> PLUGINS >>> EYE CANDY 3 >>> DROP SHADOW As shown on example
